Research on pore structures of fine-grained carbonate reservoirs and their influence on waterflood development

Abstract Carbonate reservoir has complex pore structures. At present, the influence of structure on water flooding mechanism carbonate reservoirs is insufficient. In this article, a systematic workflow was designed in combination with scanning electron microscope, particle size, physical properties, and experiments to study effect fine-grained rocks. Due small size strong heterogeneity, acid fracturing operations, rather than hydraulic alone, are necessary achieve increased production reconstruction reservoirs. Through study, mathematical model parameters (permeability porosity) proposed, accuracy verified by comparing simulated oil recovery experimental results. According comparison results, results consistent simulation their efficiency 33.62 31.87%, respectively. Finally, injection rate discussed.
